Stacey Dooley - Fashions Dirty Secrets

Stacey Dooley's documentary about 'Fashion's Dirty Secrets' sparked my interest again at the start of this year, where she showed the impacts of textile dyeing on the

rivers (This impact is massive environmentally and socially, with large amount of dyes flowing into rivers of which the community uses to live of), and the impact of cotton production on the Aral Sea, as shown below in this shocking image.


Cotton uses a lot of water in its production and the impact is severe as the majority of the Areal Sea has dried up as Dooley demonstrates by walking on the sea floor as shown below. I had never heard that a whole sea can even dry up, let alone that it had happened, it shocked me massively and we are all contributing to the problem and aren't even aware of how large the issue is.
