I came across the 'Story of Stuff' online the other day while researching, where I saw this quote above in the title, by Annie Leonard. We say 'throw away' although it is so easy, but it does have to go somewhere, and with our increase of consumption of clothing this resonates with my research.
On the website were lots of information videos looking at where this waste goes, like being sent around the world (in the travel alone is polluting the earth let alone transporting waste across seas) to countries like India to dump our waste in their country causing landfills all over the world.

In the story of change in series two, she speaks about how normally help on sustainable buying starts by buying better stuff and recycling it at the end. Going onto say that change will only come from consumers standing up to organisations to say for example "no more toxins", as well as making rules or laws to ensure safe products are being produced, and working together to communicate to spread the word.
In one of the videos they said that one third of the world’s resources have been used already, so one day we will run out, and sooner than we think. I have included these links below because the videos are short, interesting and informative so have a watch!
