I visited the Victoria and albert Museum last year, which had the inspiring exhibition on called ‘Fashioned by Nature’ which looked at garments that had been influenced by Mother Nature which is one of my favourite start points of inspiration for my own practise. walking round the exhibition I learnt so much that I didn't know about fast fashion, and its impact on the world.

One year on and I was struggling to think of a subject to write about for my dissertation, that would keep me interested throughout the research and writting. However I have always been interested in sustainability and I am increasingly more intrigued in how sustainable the textile and fashion industry is, especially with all the new research out there. Then I remembered my inspiring visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum and thought that I would start from where I left of, learning about cotton farming and the impact.
